The Penannular Brooch or semi-circular brooch is one of the most ancient ways of holding two pieces of fabric together. its origins date as far back as the Roman Empire. The Vikings and the Celts made this design famous.
This Pennanular brooch is handforged from 1/8” round surgical stainless steel. It measures aproxamatly 2 1/2” in diameter. The pin is 3/32” thick. These are heavy duty enough to hold a wool cloak, but light enough to where on a medium weight shaw. They also looke great worn as a lapel pin.
Please not that these brooches are hand forged so they will differ slightly from the photo. Each peace I make is unique in its own way.
