In Sweden the Yule goat is regarded as a watchful spirt, over the home, ensuring that the holiday preparations were done right, but there is also a mischievous side to this little spirit.
Scandinavian society would use the goat to prank one's friends and family. He would be left at possibly a neighbor's house without them noticing; and the neighboring family, successfully pranked, had to get rid of the little trickster in the same way.
